All auctions / Silver & Gold / English silversmith, maker’s mark ‘DF’ - Vase - .925 silver - Fine

A refined pair of English decorative vases in hallmarked sterling silver, crafted between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in the heart of the late Victorian/early Edwardian period. The vases feature a richly worked repoussé and hand-engraved surface with elegant floral motifs, scrolls, and Rococo Revival decorations, typical of high-end English ornamentation of the era. The slender shapes, the undulating rim, and the superb craftsmanship give the pair a highly dramatic and decorative presence. Both pieces bear English hallmarks for sterling silver, including the maker's mark “DF” and British assay marks. The pair is particularly interesting both for its construction quality and its state of conservation, very rare to find so intact: no dents or significant deformities, decorative details still sharp and excellent overall symmetry. Total weight: approximately 360 grams. Objects ideal for collectors of antique English silver, interiors with an international flair, cabinets of curiosities, or classic and eclectic settings. Excellent condition for their age, with normal and very slight signs of wear compatible with more than a century of history.
