Enrique Koscaya (1901 - 1970) - El Rio

Title: The River ㅤ School: European School (20th century) ㅤ Author: Enrique Koscaya ㅤ Style: Landscape Impressionism ㅤ Technique: Oil on panel ㅤ Condition: Good overall condition. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The work is linked to European impressionist and post-impressionist landscape painting, with a fragmented and impasted brushstroke especially effective at depicting the movement of the water and the autumnal vegetation. ㅤ River landscape in which the stream diagonally traverses a grove of trees. The white and bluish brushstrokes represent the movement of the current among the rocks, while the yellows and ochres of the foliage create an autumnal atmosphere of rich chromatic depth. ㅤ Important gilded frame of classical style, richly ornate with vegetal reliefs and interior moldings. ㅤ Enrique Koscaya develops in this work a landscape language of active brushwork and great textural richness, aimed at capturing the movement of the water and the chromatic intensity of the natural surroundings. ㅤ Observations: ㅤ The artwork may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation.
