Enzo Cucchi (1949) - Progetto: Tavolo con Prato

ICON OF TRANSAAVANGUARD: Splendid Work by ENZO CUCCHI – "Project: Table with Lawn" This specific graphic work by Enzo Cucchi is listed in official art catalogs and in auction house archives as created in the late 'proni' or early '70s (specifically around 1972-1974). Historical context of the work: This is a very interesting piece because it belongs to Cucchi's youthful, conceptual phase, even before the artist founded and officially launched the Transavanguardia movement (which exploded globally at the beginning of the 1980s alongside Chia, Clemente, De Maria, and Paladino). In that very early period of the early '70s, Cucchi was deeply influenced by Arte Povera and conceptual Minimalism. This perfectly explains the sheet's style: a geometric and rigorous technical drawing ("the project") combined with a mathematical reflection on nature ("10 tables correspond to 20 square meters of green lawn"). Only later would the master abandon this formal cleanliness to move into the lush, visionary, expressive painting that made him famous worldwide. The print and edition of 100 copies (published for collectible purposes) date precisely to the cataloging of this precious corpus of youthful projects. For demanding collectors and enthusiasts of great international contemporary art, we offer an extraordinary, cultured, and conceptual graphic piece by master Enzo Cucchi (Ancona, 1949), an undisputed pillar of the Italian Transavanguardia movement theorized by Achille Bonito Oliva. The work combines a rigorous minimalist and architectural aesthetics with the lyrical touch of nature pressed into the famous motif of the green-yellowish lawn. • Artist: Enzo Cucchi • Title of the work: Project: table with lawn (bearing the lower inscription "10 tables correspond to 20 square meters of green lawn") • Technique: Color lithograph / fine art screenprint • Dimensions: 50x70 cm • Edition: Exclusive limited edition of only 100 copies worldwide (Copy 2 out of 100 / 2/100) • Signature: Hand-signed in pencil by the artist ("Cucchi") at the bottom center COLLECTOR'S VALUE OF THIS WORK Unlike Cucchi's denser, more material pieces, this "Project" represents a rare and elegant compendium in which the artistic gesture dialogues with technical drawing and the poetics of space. The very low edition size (only 100 copies in total) and the incredibly low portfolio number (2/100) make this specific sheet a highly collectible exhibit with strong potential for future appreciation.
