All auctions / Arts & Graphics / Enzo Finocchiaro (1912-1992) - Barconi a Viareggio
Dimensions of the painting: about 63 x 78 cm Oil on faesite Signed lower left On the back, several labels (see photo) Provenance: private collection A photocopy of a show is added where a similar work was presented titled “Barconi a Viareggio” Biography A pupil in Tuscany of Cipriano Mannucci and Primo Conti, he drew from the former a susceptibility to the elegiac mood of the countryside and from the latter an inclination toward twentieth-century experimentation. He lived mainly in Genoa, where his painting was also influenced by the outcomes of the major Ligurian protagonists, for example Emanuele Rambaldi: his works, in fact, conveyed that post-Impressionist naturalism that brought light and color to the most sensitive formal interpenetrations of painting. He participated in important Italian group exhibitions, among them Arte Sacra at the Angelicum in Milan (1946), the Quadrivium in Milan and the Biennale d’Arte Città di Genova (1975), as well as the Ligurian Contemporary Art Exhibition (masters and pupils) organized by the Municipality of Genoa at the Palazzo Ducale in 1980. Frame as a gift: no disputes about its condition will be accepted For purchases outside the EU, shipping times may be long due to the documents required for the export of artworks over 70 years old. It is not advisable to place bids for shipments to non-EU countries.
