Please consult the original photographs to verify the artwork’s real condition.” This oil on canvas work delves into contemporary realism with dreamlike undertones, portraying the profile of a submerged woman who emerges toward the water’s surface in the company of small red fish that surround her. The artist employs a masterful painting technique in handling refracted light, capturing with dynamic and fluid brushstrokes the play of golden glints that project onto the skin and the distortions created by the water at the top of the canvas. The rich palette of deep blues harmonizes in a harmonious way with the warm tones of the face and the small fish, composing a space of serenity and deep introspection where the aquatic environment acts as a metaphor for purification, inner calm, and reconnection with the self.
