Title: Before the Ball School: European Impresionista School (20th century) Style: Interior Impressionism with costumbrista influence Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The work is situated in the tradition of elegant European interior painting, combining resources typical of Impressionism with a pronounced costumbrista sensibility. The portrayal of a richly decorated bourgeois setting, the attention given to furniture and clothing, as well as the luminous and relatively loose treatment of surfaces, recall the tradition of society and genre scenes developed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. There is also an evident influence from 19th-century interior painting, reinterpreted through a freer and more atmospheric execution. Interior scene titled Before the Ball, featuring two elegantly dressed ladies seated at the far left of a spacious salon. Their dresses, in blue and grayish tones, stand out against a room dominated by warm ochre, earth, and gold hues. The interior is carefully constructed with a deep perspective that leads the eye toward the large central mirror. The room features abundant decoration: ornate chest of drawers, large vases, paintings, a chandelier, a carpet, period furniture, a marble fireplace, and a decorative screen. The mirror helps visually enlarge the space and adds depth to the composition. The presence of the two figures, apparently absorbed in preparations or moments before a social event, gives the scene a narrative and intimate character. The ensemble conveys the refined atmosphere of a bourgeois interior and a certain nostalgic evocation of 19th-century social life. The work is presented with a wide dark wooden frame, stepped profile and moulded ornamentation. Its sober finish, with repetitive reliefs on the inner area, provides depth to the whole and contrasts with the warm and luminous tones of the painting. It shows visible signs of age and use consistent with its decorative nature. ㅤ Observations: The work may incur transport damage even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excess dimensions, or weight of the item. PremiArt will not be responsible for this surcharge. The courier that must cross the Swiss border may experience delays far beyond normal, so, if possible to expedite the process, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the customer can release it and thus it can reach its destination. Experience has shown this to be the most effective solution for both parties. Due to the high volume of shipments, orders may be delayed more than three days, and we apologize and thank you for your patience.
