Escuela Impresionista (XX) - Rosas en Expansión

Title: Roses in Expansion School: European Impressionist School (20th century) Style: Floral Impressionism Technique: Oil on panel Condition: Generally good preservation state for its age. Signed in the lower right corner. Circle and artistic influence: The work participates in the European tradition of the floral still life reinterpreted through an impressionist brushstroke. Attention focuses on color and the painting matter, with a quick and expressive execution that recalls floral painting developed between the late 19th and first half of the 20th century, when naturalistic representation was progressively replaced by a more spontaneous and sensorial vision. The still life presents a abundant bouquet of roses arranged in a dark-toned vase. The flowers spread expansively to both sides and toward the upper part, creating a dynamic composition of open roses and buds in tones of yellow, pink, orange, white and reddish. The leaves, resolved with deep greens, function as a chromatic counterpoint to the flowers. The grayish, neutral background allows the volume and luminosity of the floral ensemble to stand out. The lower surface incorporates blue fabrics and yellowish areas that introduce new color contrasts. The brushstroke is broad, impastoed and clearly visible, reinforcing the painting’s pictorial character. The painting is presented with a wide gold frame, decorated with vegetal reliefs and wavy lines in the corners. The aged gold finish reinforces the decorative and traditional character of the still life. Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging.
