Unique lot of esotericism, Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry and Kabbalah – Rare collection of reference works (1938-2016) Coherent lot of high collectible interest dedicated to Western initiatic tradition, to the myth of Hiram, to Freemasonry, to the Templars, to the Rosicrucians and to the Kabbalah. It includes a rare French popular science manual from the 1930s and a core set of modern reference texts, together with four complete issues of the official magazine of the Rosacrocian Association A.R.C.O. Contents of the lot 1. H.-M. de Campigny L’Occultisme pour tous ou la science des mages dévoilée Paris, Librairie Garnier Frères, 1938 Pp. VI, 179, (2); with 19 plates and illustrations. Fascinating and rare popular manual of the esoteric sciences, signed by a significant figure of French occult literature of the early 20th century. The work fits into the cultural climate of the time, marked by renewed interest in Hermeticism, magic, astrology and initiatic doctrines. Elegant Art Deco cover with a female figure inspired by Egyptian iconography: emblematic example of the Symbolist aesthetic applied to esoteric publishing. Inside, figures and explanatory plates on the “occult constitution of man” and on the correspondences between body, soul and spirit according to various sapiential traditions. Complete copy, with signs of age and light wear to the cover (loose spine, presence of a bookmark); some underlining and notes, pages slightly loosened, internal pages browned but well preserved. A rare book on the antiquarian market, sought after by collectors and scholars of esotericism and Symbolist culture. 2. Lot of 4 complete fascicles of the magazine “Sentiero Rosacrociano” Year XLI (new series), 2016 Format about 30 × 21 cm • N. 44 – January-March 2016 • N. 45 – April-June 2016 • N. 46 – July-September 2016 • N. 47 – October-December 2016 Official periodical of the Rosacrocian Association A.R.C.O., a high-level cultural and spiritual magazine dedicated to the Western esoteric tradition, Rosicrucian philosophy, the history of religions, astrology, symbolism and non-conformist currents of thought. High-quality covers with reproductions of classical and Renaissance artworks. Rich contents: philosophical editorials, in-depth essays on Sri Aurobindo, Julian the Apostate, Hermes Trismegistus, Paracelsus, Helen Keller, Thomas Emlyn; essays on comparative religion, philosophical-scientific themes and ethical-practical articles. Niche publication with a limited print run, aimed at scholars and enthusiasts. The 2016 fascicles represent a significant document of contemporary Italian Rosacrucian publishing and are now difficult to find complete on the antiquarian and collecting market. Overall good conservation (slight wear to the cover of no. 44). 3. Four volumes of esotericism, Freemasonry, Templar tradition and Kabbalah (circa 2010-2020) • Christopher Knight – Robert Lomas, The Key of Hiram. From Solomon’s Temple to Masonic Rituals: traces of the secret manuscripts of Jesus, Oscar Mondadori. The authors’ most famous and discussed work. Reconstructs the links between Solomon’s Temple, Masonic rituals, Dead Sea Scrolls manuscripts and a non-canonical reading of Jesus. With photographs of initiations, tracing plates, maps and historical illustrations. Standard reference for the study of the origins of Freemasonry. • David S. Katz, The Occult Tradition. From the Renaissance to today: Templars, Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Theosophists, New Age adherents, fundamentalists, Oscar Storia – Mondadori. Broad and well-documented history of Western occultism. A classic of esoteric historiography, clear and accessible, linking the main currents of the occult tradition. • Guido Araldo, The Secret Thread of Hiram. From mysteries to Alexandrian Gnosis, from the Templars to the Brothers of Love, from the Rosicrucians to Freemasonry, BastogiLibri. Reconstructs the initiatic “thread” from Hiram, through Hellenistic mysteries and Alexandrian gnosis, to the Templars, to the Brothers of Love, to the Rosicrucians and to Freemasonry. With historical illustrations. A synthetic work particularly appreciated by Italian scholars. • Zohar. The Book of Splendor, edited by Elio and Ariel Toaff, Edizioni Studio Tesi. Italian edition of the fundamental text of the Kabbalah, with introduction and editorial work by two important scholars. An essential volume for those studying Jewish mysticism and esoteric tradition. These four volumes form an organic, high-level path on the Western initiatic tradition: from the myth of Hiram and the origins of Freemasonry, through the Templars, the Brothers of Love and the Rosicrucians, to the Kabbalah and the modern history of occultism. They are reference texts (not mere popularizations) that combine historical research, symbolism and esoteric reading. Complete, with bindings and intact pages. This set is particularly coherent and sought-after: it combines a rare 1938 French volume with difficult-to-find items and a core set of modern reference texts with four complete issues of a niche, limited-edition magazine. Ideal for collectors of esoteric literature, the history of religions, Masonic symbolism, Templar and Kabbalistic tradition. The collection offers a documented, high-quality scholarly path from the early 20th century to the contemporary Rosacrucian publishing landscape, with items that are (individually) already hard to find and, when combined, acquire even greater collectible value.
