Rare wooden cigarette case or cigarillo case made of rosewood and camphorwood. The lid is adorned with three richly sculpted niches of celestial dancers inspired by Khmer style (apsara style). Along the sides, low-relief friezes depict dancing figures. The interior features a stepped unfolding mechanism to hold 64 cigarettes. Provenance: ETS PHILONG TAMTOA DONGHOI, present-day Vietnam. The Tam Toa district was Dimensions: 21 cm x 13 cm x 9 cm. Weight: 725 grams. The underside of the box bears the trace of an old label, probably a customs stamp or an official export label.
