European school (XX) - Fragellazione di Cristo

Fascinating sacred painting depicting the Flagellation of Christ, one of the most intense and dramatic moments of Jesus' Passion. The work shows Christ at the center of the scene, bound to the column of martyrdom and highlighted by a radiant halo that contrasts with the dark tones of the background. Around him his tormentors move with dynamism, caught in the act of raising the scourges. The composition is distinguished by a strong expressiveness of the faces and by a skilful use of color, particularly in the contrast between the green and red garments of the figures in the foreground, which heighten the movement and the dramatic pathos of the biblical event. Insured shipping, tracked and well packed. Origin: private collection. The frame is complimentary; we decline any responsibility for damages during transport; by purchasing, the buyer accepts this condition. Dimensions: only the panel 22x33 cm approximately.
