European school (XX) - La Guerra Civil

Title: The Civil War School: European (20th century) Style: Contemporary figurative with pop influence and social-narrative Technique: Oil on canvas The work presents a powerful scene rich in symbolic and narrative meaning, depicting a vessel occupied by several human figures, probably fishermen or refugees, set in a seascape of strong chromatic intensity. The background is highlighted by a vibrant sky in reddish and orange tones that contrasts with the waters in blues and greens, generating a dramatic and almost unreal atmosphere. In the foreground appears a female figure, a girl seated facing forward, dressed in purplish tones, whose presence introduces a strong emotional and reflective component. Her isolation from the group on the boat reinforces the symbolic charge of the scene, and can be interpreted as an allegory of innocence in the face of conflict. The composition combines figurative elements with an aesthetic close to poster art and the narrative art of the 20th century, with defined outlines and an intense chromatic palette. The scene suggests a war context or social conflict, in line with the title of the work, evoking historical episodes or contemporary interpretations of war and its human consequences. The work is framed in a dark wood frame, with a wide moulding and a classic profile. It includes an inner gilder in a light color that creates contrast and adds visual depth to the ensemble. The frame presents a sober and elegant aesthetic, suitable for enhancing the painting’s chromatic intensity.
