Ewer - Wine carafe - Crystal - Historicism / Neo-Renaissance

An antique wine decanter / carafe in Historicism (Neo-Renaissance) style, dating from the end of the 19th century (circa 1880-1900). The carafe is made of a heavy quality clear crystal glass with a vertical optical-ridged relief. The carafe features a richly worked tin mount. The neck is decorated with an expressive satyr head (Bacchus) beneath the pouring spout and floral motifs that continue onto the handle. The tin mount fits snugly. The underside of the glass shows light, normal wear and sliding marks inherent to the age of the object.
