EXCEPTIONAL ORANGE SAPPHIRE - GEM QUALITY SRI LANKA...

Exceptional natural rough Sri Lankan crystal, remarkable for its flamboyant orange color, reddish nuances and stunning vitreous luster Beautiful natural rough sapphire from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) This piece immediately stands out for its extremely intense and luminous orange coloration, accompanied by deep orange-red and coppery nuances. Under direct lighting, the most translucent peripheral parts seem to literally light up, while the heart of the crystal reveals deeper, more contrasted tones. The combination of this strong chromatic saturation, the material’s translucency, and its particularly complex natural morphology gives the specimen a remarkable presence. A flamboyant orange color The color is undoubtedly one of the great attractions of this crystal. The stone features a bright, highly saturated orange dominance, evolving toward orange-reddish, orange-red, and coppery tones depending on orientation. Some peripheral parts become almost incandescent when light passes through the crystal. Conversely, the thicker zones concentrate more color and develop a deeper appearance. This natural distribution produces a very beautiful contrast and adds a lot of visual relief to the specimen. Transparency and brightness The crystal presents transparent to translucent zones, particularly visible on its extremities and some parts of its periphery. These zones allow light to penetrate the material and reveal part of its internal architecture. The varying thicknesses of the crystal then modify the perception of color, creating a true gradient from bright orange to deeper reddish tones. Under a point light, this interaction between light and matter becomes spectacular and gives the crystal an impressively deep impression. A powerful vitreous luster The specimen’s natural surface shows a distinctly vitreous shine. Many reliefs catch the light directly and generate small, very bright reflections, sometimes almost silver. These contrast strongly with the stone’s warm color and reinforce its crystalline character. In macro photography or under magnification, the surface reveals a multitude of structures, irregularities and natural textures that make each area of the crystal different. A preserved rough morphology This sapphire is presented in its natural rough state and is not cut. Its irregular morphology is a key part of its appeal. The stone retains traces and structures resulting from its geological history, offering a very different look from a sapphire shaped by a lapidary. One face notably features an extremely rich texture, while the more translucent edges add depth and brightness. The result is a specimen whose appearance changes considerably when viewed from different angles. Specifications Mineral: Natural corundum – Sapphire Provenance: Sri Lanka (Ceylon) Weight: 0.48 carat Dimensions: 4.6 × 3.2 × 2.6 mm Dominant color: Intense orange Nuances: Orange-red, orange-red and copper Transparency: Transparent to translucent depending on the area Luster: Vitreous and brilliant Form: Natural rough crystal Condition: Unfaceted Quality: Gem quality Type: Natural collection gemstone Ceylon: a prestigious historical origin Sri Lanka, historically known as Ceylon, ranks among the world’s great gem regions and is particularly famous for the diversity of its corundums. This historical provenance is sought after by gem enthusiasts as well as mineral collectors. In this case, preserving the crystal in its rough form allows direct appreciation of the natural material: its color, textures, morphology and transparency variations remain fully visible. A remarkable piece for a collection With its 0.48 carat, this specimen has a very nice volume for its compact dimensions. It is a particularly interesting piece for a collection dedicated to natural sapphires, Ceylonian corundums, rough gems, or crystals with unusual colors. Viewing it under a loupe or in macro photography reveals even more of its character: the surface becomes a true crystalline landscape, mixing red-toned areas, shiny reliefs and orange parts that are almost incandescent. Thus the stone offers two levels of reading: an immediately spectacular color to the naked eye, then a rich detail when observed under magnification. A superb natural rough sapphire from Ceylon of 0.48 carat, remarkable for its intensely saturated orange coloration, its orange-red nuances, its vitreous luster and the richness of its natural morphology — a characterful piece destined for a collection of natural gems.
