Exclusive spindle snail (Tibia fusus) – 27 cm prize...

Scientific name: Tibia fusus (synonym Rostellaria fusus, also known as shin snail or spindle snail). Quality grade: GEM (Absolute top condition for discerning collectors. The extremely fragile, needle-like long siphonal tip and the fine finger-like appendages at the opening are 100% intact and undamaged). Size: 27 cm (An impressive specimen. While the average size is around 23 cm, this piece at 27 cm already belongs to the rare and coveted large specimens of the species). Origin: Indo-Pacific (Common locations with excellent specimens lie in the deep, clean waters around the Philippines, in the South China Sea, and around Indonesia). Habitat: Tropical deep water (The animals live on sandy bottoms at depths of 5 to over 60 meters. They bury themselves in the sand and use their extremely long breathing siphon—the siphonal canal—as a snorkel for oxygen and food intake). SKU Oberdiek Tibia fusus 50
