Exquisite Vintage Ruby & Diamond Ring Made of White Gold, ca. 1970

Dating from around 1970, this exquisite ring immediately impresses with its three wonderful rubies. The precious stones are faceted and set side by side in a horizontal row, with the largest stone occupying the center. They seem to rest on a bed of white diamonds, as the diamonds, set a little lower accompany the rubies like a sparkling fringe. Delicate white gold bars lead to the finger and the flared ring band, which prevents the ring from twisting around the phalanx. Rings with three prominent gemstones have a very special meaning in the history of jewellery: they are called "trilogy rings" and they transport an idea that has to do with the love of a person: thus, the trinity of gemstones in a ring, stands for a shared temporality.
