Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs Extra-Long Antique Karabagh Gallery Carpet, South Caucasus, circa 1900 Size: 21 ft 1 in x 7 ft 10 in (6.42 m x 2.38 m) Provenance: Private collection of a Connecticut estate An exceptionally long and unusually wide Karabagh carpet created for a substantial gallery or reception space. Karabagh weaving developed within the culturally diverse southern Caucasus, where Persian floral traditions, Caucasian geometry, and European decorative influences often intersected. At more than twenty-one feet long and nearly eight feet wide, the carpet occupies a rare middle ground between a runner and a full room-size carpet. Its dimensions make it especially valuable for a long gallery, loft or broad entrance hall. Condition Request Condition Report Lot #466 is in very good condition. The pile is full and even, with no visible signs of wear. This rug has been reduced in length, and the work was done very professionally. Both ends are original and hand-secured, and the sides are securely finished. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and floor-ready.
