FAIZANT (Jacques). … The Nature of Things. Paris, Denoël, 1970. In-8, publisher’s illustrated hardcover. A collection of black-and-white satirical drawings, originally published in *Paris-Presse*, *Candide*, and *Le Figaro*. The drawings are accompanied by captions and chronological notes. Faizant depicts political and international events of the 1960s: the Vietnam War, Franco-American relations, General de Gaulle’s presidency, and the rise of Georges Pompidou. The final photographed pages show Giscard d’Estaing’s return to the Ministry of Finance and the formation of the Chaban-Delmas government in June 1969. Printed on October 30, 1970, at the Offset-Aubin printing house in Poitiers; legal deposit for the fourth quarter of 1970. The hardcover is slightly soiled and scuffed, with worn caps and a small tear at the bottom of the spine; the interior is clean.
