Favre-Leuba Sea-King – Vintage Swiss Mechanical Watch – Stainless Steel – Cream Dial – 1960–1969 A characterful vintage Favre-Leuba Sea-King from the 1960s, featuring a classic stainless-steel case, warm cream dial and distinctive Arabic numeral hour markers. The watch has an unmistakable vintage presence. Its dial has developed an attractive warm patina over time, while the large Arabic numerals and central seconds hand create a clean, highly legible composition. The slim case and elongated lugs are characteristic of mid-century Swiss wristwatch design. Powered by a Swiss mechanical manual-winding movement, this Sea-King represents the practical and robust mechanical watches for which Favre-Leuba became known during the mid-20th century. The stainless-steel case shows scratches, small marks and surface wear, particularly around the bezel, lugs and case edges. The case back also displays scratches and marks from previous opening and use. The cream dial has developed noticeable natural ageing and patina, giving it a warm yellow-champagne appearance. The Arabic numerals show visible ageing and loss of material in places, while small marks and variations in the dial surface can be observed under close inspection. These elements contribute to the authentic vintage character of the watch. The crystal shows normal signs of use. The watch has not been tested for water resistance; therefore, water resistance is not guaranteed, irrespective of the original “Waterproof” designation engraved on the case back. Story & Heritage Favre-Leuba is one of the historic names of Swiss watchmaking, with origins dating back to the 18th century. During the 20th century, the manufacture developed a reputation for robust mechanical watches designed for everyday use and exploration. The Sea-King became one of the recognizable names within Favre-Leuba’s vintage collections, reflecting an era when increased resistance to water and dependable mechanical construction were important selling points for everyday wristwatches. This example captures the aesthetic of the 1960s particularly well: compact dimensions, elongated lugs, a simple three-hand configuration and highly legible Arabic numerals. Decades of natural ageing have transformed the originally lighter dial into a warm cream-champagne tone, giving each detail an individual vintage character. Today, early Favre-Leuba watches attract collectors interested in historic Swiss manufacturers beyond the most mainstream names. This Sea-King offers an appealing combination of authentic patina, classic proportions and traditional hand-wound mechanical watchmaking. A charming vintage Swiss watch for collectors who appreciate Favre-Leuba, naturally aged dials and understated mid-century design. Internal Reference Number - ITM-953
