Offered here is a particularly crude Contemporary Counterfeit that attempts (rather poorly) to imitate an obligation of the Fayette-based branch of the Bank of the State of Missouri. The portraits of Martin Van Buren (left) and Andrew Jackson (right) are particularly crude imitations and collectively offer a sight that demonstrates what it means to be a "crude reproduction."
