Ferdinand Preiss (1882–1943) - after - Sculpture

A beautiful car mascot and sculpture titled 'Raging Jester', also known as: the Devil Facing the Wind. This piece is made after the original that was made around 1925 by sculptor Ferdinand Preiss (1882–1943). The figure depicts an expressive jester or devil leaning dramatically into the wind, capturing a strong sense of movement and character. Dimensions: 17 x 11 x 21 cm. Weight: 2.1 kg. Signature: F. Preiss. Foundry stamp: yes. Numbered: yes. Condition: Excellent (see images). It is made out of a high quality bronze and it is mounted on an elegant marble base with natural veining. An exceptionally decorative work and a fascinating example of early automotive sculpture.
