Ferrania Elioflex 1 (en Ferrania Box) Twin lens reflex camera (TLR)

Ferrania Elioflex 1 (ca. 1950) and Ferrania box (1938?). Both appear to be in working condition (shutter, diaphragm, focus control) although the cameras have not been tested in detail (and not with film). One side is missing its covering (easy to repair) onto which an alternative paper lining with Elioflex information has been fitted. Includes the original leather case (in poor condition due to loose stitching and dried leather). Therefore: "what you see is what you get" (googling for further info about these two lovely cameras) Google / AI info (not accuracy-checked): The Ferrania Elioflex (often referred to as the Elioflex 1) is a charming Italian pseudo-TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) medium-format camera released around 1950 by the well-known manufacturer Ferrania. It is a so-called 'pseudo-TLR' because the two lenses are not mechanically linked for focusing; the top lens merely serves as a large, bright viewfinder to determine composition from waist-high (waist-level finder). Key Specifications of the Elioflex 1 • Film type: Uses standard 120 film for 6x6 cm square photographs. • Lens: Equipped with an 85mm f/8 Officine Galileo Monog lens. • Focusing: Manually adjustable from about 2.2 meters to infinity. • Diaphragm: Variable with a square mask from f/8 to f/22. • Shutter: Guillotine shutter 1/25s to 1/200s and a B setting (for manual long exposures). • Body: Made of cast aluminum with a post-Art Deco styling. Special Features • Brilliant Finder & Sports Finder: The camera has a fold-out metal hood under which there is a larger, bright viewfinder. In that hood is also a clever, fold-out metal wireframe finder ('sports finder') integrated so you can quickly follow moving subjects at eye level. • Double exposure protection: Features a mechanism that prevents accidentally taking two photos on top of each other (double-exposure lock).
