The example up for auction is a 1986 328 GTS delivered new in Italy, in a rare Blue Scuro Metallizzato color with Beige interior, particularly rare and sought after. The GTS configuration and the Pininfarina-styled design make it one of the most representative Ferraris from Maranello in the 1980s. This first series is also without Kat and without ABS, a rare combination that is even more appreciated. EXTERIOR The exterior body is in the original Blue Scuro Metallizzato and is generally in first paint, but shows some signs of age and use such as scratches, stone chipping and dulling with minor localized corrosion spots. It has never undergone a full restoration. The doors and bonnets open and close smoothly, and the car is generally presentable. A polishing and detailing treatment has been completed. The original wheels are preserved in excellent condition, as are the original details and Pininfarina logos. A thickness gauge test showed no evidence of accidents, as per Carfax certificate. The underbody generally appears solid and preserved, has never undergone restoration and shows no evidence of accidents. INTERIOR The Beige leather interior is factory-original. It shows some general signs of wear, dashboard, seats and panels, however it is complete with the rare and specific details of the series. The rare convertible roof cover is also in place behind the seats. The dashboard is complete with the typical three-spoke steering wheel. A full sanitization has just been performed. The power windows work, as do the lights that rise and lower correctly. MECHANICS Mechanically the car is functioning; the original V8 has benefited from documented maintenance over the years, as shown by the accompanying invoices. Brakes, gearbox and clutch operate, and gear engagement is regular; the car is drivable and has been test-driven. As with any historic car that has spent a period with little use, before the next official inspection and regular use, a routine general maintenance is advisable. A Ferrari in very rare colors, usable with a lovely original patina or an excellent base for a restorative upgrade and to participate in Cavallino events and concours.
