Figure - Boys washing an elephant - Bronze - China (No reserve price)

Stunningly beautiful highly decorative and very charming bronze figure depicting boys (tongzi) washing an elephant. In Chinese culture and Chan/Zen traditions, washing an elephant (xi xiang) is a homophone and metaphor for cleansing the mind or polishing Buddha-nature (sao xiang), as the elephant represents vast wisdom and strength. We feel that the piece is in overall very good original condition. Dimensions 22cm height 16cm width 10cm depth Item will be shipped with registered shipping
