Figurine - Amber schildpad en twee slakken met...

Amber turtle and two snails with air bubbles • in Murano style • ca. 1960–1980 Two clear snails with air bubbles and an open-through view in the shell, and an amber turtle with white pull threads. Unnoticed; a factory is not established and is not claimed. Two clear snails and an amber turtle with white pull threads, hand-formed in Murano style, circa 1960 to 1980. What distinguishes this set: the heart of the shell is left open as a view-through. One of the snails bears a golden-yellow tint in the head and feelers. All three have a flat, ground underside. In one glance: Material: glass, hand-formed Dimensions: snails 6.5 x 8 x 2.5 cm; turtle 4 x 8 x 6.5 cm Weight: 570 g together Brand: no factory mark, signature or label visible Dating: ca. 1960–1980 Origin: from a collector of vintage glass Description and context: The snails are formed in thick, clear glass, with a rolled shell in which a spiral core and dispersed, controlled air bubbles are visible. In the heart of the shell there is no glass: an open hole allows a view through. The left snail has the most bubbles, the right has a few. The turtle has a yellow-amber tinted body with inlaid white threads, and a colorless head, tail, and four legs. Under the turtle, the white threads are cut through in the ground plane. The trade offers comparable snails with a golden-yellow head as Murano style from the sixties. Condition: Very good. Undersides: all three ground and polished flat, with light scratches on the ground surface. Attached parts (feelers, head, tail, legs): no chips or hairline cracks observed. Air bubbles and pull threads: production-specific, no damage. Right snail: a small white spot on top of the shell. See photos. Offered as a decorative object. In the interior: Fits a mid-century, eclectic or maximalist interior, on a bookshelf, desk or windowsill. In daylight, the air bubbles and the amber color of the turtle catch the light. Shipping: Professionally packed in a sturdy box with cushioning material, for fragile objects a double box. Always insured shipment with Track and Trace. See feedback from previous buyers. Attribution and sources: A factory or maker has not been identified and is not claimed. The genre fits Murano style, presumably Italian; Venezuelan or other Murano-style works outside Italy are not excluded without a mark. Comparable snails are known in the trade, including V. Nason & C., Murano.
