Figurine - Prachtige Set van 4 Vintage Kokeshi-poppen met...

This extremely rare and harmonious set of four traditional Japanese Kokeshi dolls, decreasing in size from 24 cm, 2 x 21 cm and 15 cm. This set is in excellent vintage condition and is a beautiful example of authentic Japanese folk art (Mingei) from the Shōwa period. What makes this particular set especially valuable for collectors is that all four dolls were designed and manufactured as one thematic whole by the same artist. The underside of each doll is hand-signed by master craftsman Kawara (川原) in flowing brush script. The dolls are delicately painted with the 'Utō landscape' (うとう風景, Utō Fūkei), a poetic landscape motif with pine trees and mountains in the mist, characteristic of the northern Tōhoku region. The set is delivered with four original, accompanying storage boxes (tomobako). The front of the boxes features traditional Japanese calligraphy naming the artwork. In the world of Japanese art, these original boxes serve as an official certificate of authenticity and provenance, greatly increasing the museal and collecting value of this set. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The wood and paintings have been very well preserved and show minimal signs of aging, partly because they have always been stored in the original boxes. When shipping within the European Union there are no customs duties! Please note that the packaging was done by a private individual and not by a professional service, so perfect packaging quality cannot be guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding
