Fine quality mahogany grandmother clock attributed to Gillett & Johnston, circa 1920, the 8.5" arch brass engraved dial with a silvered Roman numeral chapter ring and subsidiary chime/silent dial to the arch, substantial regulator movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, striking the quarters and hours on five rods with the tune of Westminster on the quarters striking on five rods fitted to the case, stamped to the back plate 'Patent 25242/20 Made in England', the mahogany case with an arch top top over side carved fret panels, over a long door and plinth panelled base, 69.25" high (with two brass weights and a cast bob pendulum) ** The patent 25242/20 was applied for in 1920. The mechanism used allows just two weights to be used rather than three for the quarter striking feature
