Fine quality small 19th century French repeating gorge cased carriage clock, no. 409, 1.75" circular white Roman numeral dial with outer minute track, Breguet type blued steel hands, within a finely engraved foliate gilded mask, silvered platform lever escapement, eight day movement striking the half hours and hours on a bell, with a fine engraved gilt-brass gorge case depicting birds to the side panels and foliate scrolls, with repeat button and winding shutters holes to the back door, 5.5" high with the handle raised ** Bearing 'Meyrick Neilson of Tetbury, Gloucestershire' trade label to the underside of the case
