Fireplace accessory - Large grid - Bronze, Gilt brass - Decoration León y Leona

Impressive large-format fireplace grate made of bronze and gilded brass during the second half of the 19th century, representative of the refined decorative taste of the Napoleon III style. The piece combines functionality and ornamental richness in a balanced and majestic composition, conceived to enhance bourgeois and aristocratic interiors of the era. The central body features a wide perforated screen with a delicate geometric mesh of small crosses, framed by a solid structure of polished brass that brings brightness and elegance to the whole. The top is crowned by a fine pierced finial of Rococo inspiration, formed by volutes, scrolls and vegetal motifs that impart visual lightness and emphasize the decorative character of the piece. Especially notable are the sides, ornamented with sculptures of a reclining lion and lioness, cast in bronze and carefully chiseled. These figures, symbols of strength, nobility and protection, rest on elaborated supports decorated with cartouches, foliage and curves inspired by the Baroque, executed with high quality modeling. On the front base appears a central vegetal and symmetrical motif that visually unifies the whole composition. The combination of bronze and gilded brass, together with the profusion of ornamental details and the presence of sculptural elements, fully reflects the eclectic and sumptuous aesthetics characteristic of the Second French Empire. Its generous size and architectural presence make this grate a decorative piece of great impact, ideal for a historic fireplace as well as to integrate as an ornamental element in classic, eclectic or French-inspired interiors. It preserves all the elegance and distinctive character typical of the best decorative productions of the 19th century. Certified shipping and good packaging.
