All auctions / Arts & Graphics / FIRLE, WALTER (1859–1929) "Doppelbildnis zweier junger Damen"
HxB: 60/52 cm. Normale Altersspuren. Rahmen, 78/70 cm. | FIRLE, WALTER (1859–1929) "Double Portrait of Two Young Ladies" Oil on wood panel. Depiction of two young women in a tight composition, facing the viewer frontally. The figures are finely modeled, with lively expressions and subtle lighting. Particularly noteworthy is the loose, impressionistically influenced brushwork as well as the harmonious color palette, which gives the work a warm, intimate aura. The composition combines portrait art with an almost sketch-like spontaneity, characteristic of Walter Firle's work. HxW: 60/52 cm. Normal signs of aging. Frame, 78/70 cm.
