Condition Report Near Fine. The original red cloth boards remain remarkably bright and vibrant, with the black lettering to the upper board sharp and entirely unoxidised. The binding is exceptionally tight and square, showing virtually no shelf-wear save for the most negligible rubbing to the extreme corners. Internally, the text block is immaculate; the leaves are crisp, bright, and completely free of foxing or thumbing, retaining a fresh, unread quality that easily justifies this high antiquarian grade. Catalogue Note This is a highly presentable first edition, limited to a printing of strictly 500 copies. Compiled by The H. G. Wells Society with a foreword by Kingsley Martin, it serves as an indispensable reference for Wellsian scholars and collectors, detailing the myriad works of one of the founding fathers of science fiction. The limited nature of this 1966 printing makes it an uncommon find on the open market, particularly in such well-preserved condition. Produced by Lowe and Brydone (Printers) Ltd., this first issue precedes the more widely circulated revised editions that followed in 1968 and beyond. An essential cornerstone for any serious collector of H. G. Wells, this meticulously compiled bibliography offers a definitive guide to the author's prolific output. Spanning his groundbreaking science fiction, impassioned social commentary, and myriad essays, this limited-edition reference work illuminates the immense scope of Wells's literary legacy.
