216 pages with illustrations by Antony Maitland, cream cloth boards a little dusty art drawn dustwrapper has some browning at fore edges and spine, no tears or splits, contents very good+. *The UK edition has the title "The Long Way Home", published the same year. The authoress was German and after the war lived in West Germany. A story of Peter Reisiger who lost his family in the war and was captured by the Russians, he had a time then in Russia with a soldiers family and then adventures in China, Tibet and India.Reads like a true story but can find no one of that name recorded online?
