[First Edition] The Time Traders Norton, Andre [Used - Near fine] [Hardcover]

219 pp. 8.25" x 5.5" ONE SMALL TIME JUMP FOR MAN Published three years into the Space Race, the Grand Dame of Science Fiction situated American and Soviet technology tensions around time travel. NASA may have historically beat the Russians to the Moon, but as Andre Norton's The Time Traders bounces from the Cold War present to Bronze Age Britain to a prehistoric outpost in the Ice Age, it's clear USSR scientists are getting their innovations from an advanced alien community. Seamlessly introducing an anti-hero angst to the genre (Ross Murdock, petty criminal turned secret agent), Norton's hidden galactic history first reached fans through this World publication, as the novel was not serially published as was typical for early science fiction. This first edition, first printing features an iconic Virgil Finlay dust jacket, offering a taste of the classic, pulpy science fiction tale inside. Light shelf wear, lightly pressed corners, else near fine in very good dust jacket with light wear and chipping to extremities, touch of foxing upper rear flap, in mylar cover. Full orange cloth, top edge stained black, in Virgil Finlay dust jacket ($3.00)
