This Hemisaurida hakelensis swam in the warm tropical sea that covered Lebanon around 100 million years ago, during the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian), in the age of the dinosaurs. It comes from Haqel, one of the world's most celebrated fossil sites, famous for the exceptional detail of its fish. A fast predator related to today's lizardfishes, Hemisaurida is far less common on the market than the usual Lebanese fish plates. The main specimen, approx. 19 cm long, shows remarkable preservation of the head, jaws, vertebral column, ribs and dorsal fin rays, with a complete, sharply defined forked tail, and a second small fish is preserved on the same plate as a bonus for collectors. Its rich brown tones contrast beautifully with the cream limestone, making it a striking display piece. The plate measures approx. 25 × 13 cm
