A pair of fossil guitarfish Rhinobatos whitfieldi from Hjoula, Lebanon, about 100 million years old (Upper Cretaceous). The two plates are the positive and negative of the same fish: when the stone was split open, the fossil was preserved on both sides. Each plate shows the complete animal, from its heart-shaped head to the end of its tail, with the fine details of the fins clearly visible. Each guitarfish is about 29 cm long, and each plate measures about 22 × 37 cm.
