Flavia Delgado - En el jardín XL (NO RESERVE)

IN THE GARDEN is a vibrant and expressive 70 x 100 cm painting by artist Flavia Delgado. This painting is an evocative scene that captures the serenity and introspection of a woman at the threshold of a blooming garden. The female figure — wearing a blue blouse and white skirt, with a wide-brimmed hat that partially hides her face — seems to be suspended in a moment of contemplation, as if she is waiting or remembering something that is not shown but is sensed. The style of the work recalls the popular graphics of the 19th century, with influences from classic posters, Victorian art, and period illustrations. Yet the acrylic execution and the intensity of color give it a contemporary vitality. The palette strikingly combines flat tones with dense shadows: the golden yellow of the skin, the intense blue of the clothing, the vibrant red of the roses, and the black of the outlines impart strength to the image. The gesture of the woman, gently resting on a rustic wooden fence, suggests an open story: is it a farewell, a waiting, a daily moment interrupted by a deep thought? The work does not provide answers, but invites the viewer to project their own narrative onto the scene.
