Flavia Delgado - LECTURA EN COMPAÑIA XL

READING IN COMPANY a vibrant and expressive 70 x 100 cm painting by the artist Flavia Delgado. This painting depicts a serene and contemplative scene where time seems to stand still: a woman wearing a wide period blue dress reads a newspaper or old daily, accompanied by two dalmatians that sit attentively by her side. The scene is built with a limited palette and strong contrasts: the neutral background highlights the female figure and the graphic texture of the dogs, treated almost like illustrations from a storybook. The wide-brimmed hat, the dress ribbons, and the elegant posture recall an Edwardian or Belle Époque aesthetic, but with a pop, contemporary interpretation that revitalizes the image. The dogs, symbols of loyalty and companionship, bring a familiar and conspiratorial air, reinforcing the idea of intimate domestic calm and repose. Despite the apparent simplicity of the moment, the work hides a suggestive narrative: the public or private space where the scene unfolds is imprecise, and the dogs’ attitude—attentive yet calm—suggests that this is not just any woman, but someone with silent authority, perhaps a storyteller or witness of her time. SHIPPING: The work is offered directly by FLAVIA DELGADO, guaranteeing its authenticity with a certificate signed by the artist herself.
