Flavia Delgado - POLO XL

POLO is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the energy of classic sport and the graphic aesthetics of vintage competition posters. The work portrays a polo player galloping at high speed while striking the ball in full action. The composition conveys movement, elegance, and adrenaline, capturing the intensity and sophistication of one of the most emblematic and exclusive sports in the equestrian world. Flavia Delgado combines influences from pop art, retro illustration, and mid-20th-century historic sports posters, using bold black outlines, vibrant flat colors, and a dynamic composition with strong visual impact. The result recalls old advertisements for sports clubs and classic tournaments. The color palette, dominated by deep blues, vibrant yellows, reds, and earth tones, provides strength and visual balance to the scene. The horse and rider appear frozen in a moment of maximal tension and speed, reinforcing the cinematic feel of the piece.
