Flavia Delgado - THE GRAND BALL XL

THE GRAND BALL is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the mystery and elegance of Venetian masked balls, reinterpreted through a pop and contemporary aesthetic. The work depicts two masked female figures in an intimate, theatrical close-up, evoking the glamour, secrecy, and sophistication of the great European carnivals. The composition creates an enveloping, cinematic atmosphere where identity and fantasy blend. Flavia Delgado combines influences from pop art, vintage poster design, and Baroque ornamentation through bold black lines, strong contrasts, and decorative details inspired by the ancient Venetian masks. The color palette, dominated by electric blues, vibrant reds, ivory tones, and deep blacks, provides visual drama and a refined aesthetic that recalls mid-20th-century theater and show posters. THE GRAND BALL celebrates mystery, beauty, and the festive universe of masks, becoming an ideal piece for elegant interiors, sophisticated spaces, or collections inspired by theatrical art and European retro aesthetics.
