Spectacular fossil plant of the horsetail class. There are two spectacular branches. The preparation of the specimen was very laborious, preserving the finest details of the plant. Largest measurements for Asterophyllites: 110 x 25 mm Asterophyllites equisetiformis has a cylindrical stem, with a variable number of verticils that appear increasingly closer together the nearer they are to the tip of the stem. Each verticill has lanceolate leaves, with a conspicuous central midrib, 10-25 mm long, slightly wider than the stem, and they insert slightly obliquely, with the bases fused, forming an elliptical contoured nodal area.
