Fossilized wood ball set – two fascinating natural stone...

Million-year-old natural history in an extraordinary form: This impressive 2-piece set of petrified wood has been crafted into large, high-gloss polished spheres, beautifully preserving visible structures of the original wood. The two spheres could hardly be more colorfully varied. The left specimen delights with intense orange, copper, honey, and cream colors, flowing in broad, lively bands across the stone. The natural grain still clearly resembles grown wooden fibers in places, giving the sphere a warm, almost fiery radiance. The second sphere forms an exciting counterpoint. Here, dark chocolate brown, black-brown, cream, and distinct pink to purple-toned patches dominate. The strong elongated structures in particular create an extraordinary sense of depth and make this piece a real eye-catcher. Due to the spherical shape, the pattern can be viewed all around—each rotation reveals a changing picture, with new grains, color patches, and mineralized structures coming into view. The careful polish further intensifies the colors and showcases the preserved details of the petrified wood to excellent effect. Together as a pair, they create an engaging interplay of warm fiery-orange and deep earthy tones. At the same time, each sphere is a completely individual natural product, whose pattern does not occur exactly twice. Natural lines, mineral inclusions, small depressions, and fine irregularities belong to the original character of the petrified wood and tell of its natural formation. An extraordinary duo of spheres made from petrified wood—two unique pieces of earth history, artfully polished and with a color and grain variety that makes each sphere a distinctive collectible piece. The stands are NOT included. Stone: petrified wood Weight: 2504.94 g Size: - Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years, all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all the living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in the common language. The disclaimer about the healing properties as previously given : It is believed that certain gemstones and minerals have beneficial health and spiritual properties.
