Fr. 2200-Hdgs. 1928 Dark Green Seal $500 Federal Reserve Note. St. Louis. PMG About Uncirculated 53 EPQ. Even though the word "survivor" often gets thrown around with well-circulated notes, it should nonetheless be applied to this handsome "Gold Clause" $500 Federal Reserve Note from the St. Louis district that has sustained some light handling consistent with a very brief tenure in commercial channels. Here one may behold not only strong eye appeal, but also exceptional color brought to form by the Treasury overprint and engraved balance of the design while exception detail reigns supreme among the small details of McKinley's portrait and the cartouches and counters seen along the margins. In short, this example is more than just the grade assigned, but alas a survivor where the very level of eye appeal and technical distinction echoes the very day this note was issued around the late 1920s. Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.

Estimate:£1,798.35
