Tough $1000 Federal Reserve Note from the Minneapolis District Fr. 2212-I. 1934A $1000 Federal Reserve Note. Minneapolis. PCGS Banknote Choice Uncirculated 64. No doubt a treat for the discerning collector who specializes in high-denomination notes. This $1000 Federal Reserve Note issued under the Series of 1934 is not your typical specimen from either New York or Chicago, but a rare reflection of quality and eye appeal from a scarce district scarcely ever encountered relative to the aforementioned districts. In fact, this is the first time since our November 2024 Showcase Auction (Lot 7284) since we have handled an example of this coveted denomination from this exact district. Issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, it takes little in the way of knowledge to understand that notes like this one are a scarce prospect at any grade level. Yet what particularly remarkable is that this example represents a very small number of comparable $1000s recorded on this branch of the Federal Reserve system between both PCGS Banknote and PMG. Here impressive technical and aesthetic qualities that preempted the uncommon grade assigned by PCGS Banknote are readily perceptible even without a consideration of the numerical grade meaning that one who sees themself as a connoisseur of high-denomination notes would be remiss to overlook this item for themselves if they seek only the "exceptional" for themselves. PCGS Banknote Pop 1/None Finer. Estimate: $10,000 - $15,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
