Fr. 287. 1880 $10 Silver Certificate. PMG Choice Fine 15.

Fr. 287. 1880 $10 Silver Certificate. PMG Choice Fine 15. A scarce design and series that represents one of the earliest iterations of this popular type that lingered through the 1900s. This particular piece was issued under the Series of 1880 and represents the Scofield - Gilfillan signature combination which stands as the only signature combination shared between the short-lived (and colorful) Series of 1878 and Series of 1880 for this specific denomination. Here those signatures are encountered opposite a blank space where the countersignature of the Assistant Treasurer would be encountered on early issues while honest circulation can be observed throughout the note itself failing to detract from a degree of color and eye appeal that one would readily expect of a higher grade assigned. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Click here for certification details from PMG.

Estimate:£899.17
