Fr. 40. 1923 $1 Legal Tender Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.

Fr. 40. 1923 $1 Legal Tender Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ. Premium qualities abound on this $1 Legal Tender Note issued under the Series of 1923. Representative of a design that may seem more familiar compared to previous iterations of this type and denomination that retained a basic design first introduced in the late 1860s. The Series of 1923 by contrast speaks to period efforts to standardize designs. This series was nonetheless short-lived and issued in comparatively smaller quantities compared to those issued under the Series of 1917. Examples of the Series of 1917 were last delivered almost two months after the last Series of 1923 $1 Legal Tender Notes were delivered to the Treasury Department making this note something of an oddity in its own time and an oddity with regards to the grade assigned. Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Click here for certification details from PMG.
