All auctions / Miscellaneous / Frame- Jesus and Mary hand-embroidered - Wood
**Pair of vintage devotional paintings handmade with embroidered floral frames** Two coordinated paintings dedicated to Jesus and the Madonna, presumably from the mid-20th century (1940s–1960s). The inscriptions and decorative scrolls on the light background are entirely hand-embroidered with colored and gold threads. In the center of each painting is a raised portrait, enclosed in a small ivory-colored frame with painted flowers and gold details. The painting with Jesus bears the phrase «Nella necessità tua confida in Dio»; the Madonna one «O benedetta Maria, il nostro aiuto riposa in te». The external brown frames are decorated with raised flowers and vines. When displayed side by side, the two paintings form a harmonious composition. **Measurements of each painting:** height 53 cm, width 42 cm, depth 4 cm. **Internal measurements:** height 40 cm, width 30 cm. **Conditions:** signs of aging on the frames, small wear along the edges, and slight alterations to the light background. Conditions as shown in the photographs, an integral part of the description.
