FRANCE. 1725-A 1/2 Ecu aux 8 L. Paris Mint. Gadoury-312. AU-58 (PCGS). Boldly to sharply defined with softly frosted luster, both sides are wonderfully original in preservation. Generally pewter-olive gray, but with more vivid antique gold, pale pink and powder blue iridescence evident as the surfaces rotate into direct lighting. The Emerald Coast collector included this coin due to the issue's association with the Le Chameau shipwreck, the treasure of which included many 1/2 écu aux 8 L among the silver coins in its treasure. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 260547. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
