Specialized study lot of Cérès stamps, assembled around 3 specimens with striking atypical yellow color nuances. It concerns one 10-centimes Cérès with a very striking yellowish color and distinctive paper, and two 40-centimes Cérès with notably light yellow-orange to yellow color nuances. In one of the two yellow 40 centimes (the middle 40 c on the photos) there is also a possible deviation of the lower border line visible (right portion missing). On the reverse there is an old collector's note concerning this possible “filet bas” deviation. For comparison, a 10-centimes Cérès in a more conventional color and a 40-centimes Cérès in the usual orange color are included. In the photos these comparison stamps are shown next to the three stamps under investigation. The two comparison stamps are part of the lot and are delivered to the buyer together with the three stamps under investigation. The exact color nuances, paper type and possible border deviation have not been definitively established. The three stamps with deviations are therefore offered as study material and not as definitively identified varieties. The stamps do not come with a certificate. Please examine all photos carefully to form your own opinion about the colors, the paper, the possible deviation, the cancels, the quality and the general condition of the stamps.
