FRANCE, Automobile-Club de France, 1895, an Art Nouveau uniface cast bronze award plaque by J.-B. Daniel-Dupuis, semi-naked female figure sat on tricycle, right hand holding a torch and left hand on the tiller, legend below (Course Paris-Marseille 1896, David Salomon), 113 x 106mm, 160.58g (cf. iNumis Dec. 2017, 264; cf. DNW 35, 530). Extremely fine and superbly patinated, extremely rare and a very significant early motoring award; only the third such plaque seen by the cataloguer £500-£700.
