Ponscarme, awarded for services rendered during the Exhibition, laureate head of Napoleon III left, rev. two Cherubs carrying cartouche, this named (J. R. Royle), 67mm (Divo 539); another, similar, rev. robed figure of La République to left, holding plan of the Expo over a globe, 37mm (Divo 545) [2]. Good extremely fine, within fitted red leatherette case of issue £100-£120.
