France - Very rare summer cap from the Paris Prefecture. - Military helmet

Summer helmet of the Prefecture of Paris Very rare helmet of the 'colonial' or 'tropical' type used by the traffic units of the Prefecture of Paris between 1957 and 1960 during heat waves. Among the little-known details about it: the manufacturer would be LUM (Luchaire à Messsei) This helmet is surrounded by legends: an unverified claim states that these helmets were offered by the police of the Principality of Monaco to the traffic companies of the Prefecture of Paris on the occasion of the summer of 53 or 54. I have found no confirmation… Regardless of this legend, the use of this helmet is known… The existing specimens are rare.
